St. Oscar Romero

St. Maximillian Kolbe

In Year 5, one of the words we use most in R.E. is 'imitate' - we are called to imitate Jesus in all that we do. We also learn that being a follower of Jesus is not always easy and has many challenges. St. Oscar Romero and St. Maximillian Kolbe both imitated Jesus as they were determined to speak up for those without a voice and were so full of compassion for those who were suffering or in need, that they were prepared to give their lives for those beliefs. Both were also incredibly faith-filled and knew their reward would be to share eternal life with Jesus in heaven.
