Autism

Autism is a lifelong developmental disability which affects how people communicate and interact with the world. More than one in 100 people are on the autism spectrum and there are around 700,000 autistic adults and children in the UK. 

There are many places that parents may seek support if they believe that their child may be autistic.

 

Birmingham NHS and The Neurodevelopmental Pathway (NDP) has recently developed a new website to assist parents for attention Deficit Disorder (ADHD) and Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) Services. You can access this website here.

 

Autism West Midlands is the leading charity in the West Midlands for autistic people. It supports over 60 000 people in the West Midlands.

 

Autism Education Trust is a not-for-profit organisation supported by the Department for Education.

 

The National Autistic Society also have a wide range of resources for parents.
