• He came from a rich family and was the son of a cloth merchant.
• Francis began to see visions from God that changed his life.
• He gave all his money to the church.
• Saint Francis of Assisi was a Catholic friar who gave up a life of wealth to live a life of poverty.
• His feast day is October 4th.
