National expectations for Spelling

In 2014 the government introduced a new National Curriculum for all schools in England and Wales.  The document below sets out the spellings patterns for each year group from Year 1 to end of Key Stage 2.  It also includes 'exemption' words, those that do not follow a learnt pattern but are deemed importantly enough for a child to know.  Please see your child(ren)'s class page for a more detailed list of spellings for the term.
