January and February - Christmas and the Epiphanies

Celebrating the birth of Jesus and the epiphanies

The birth of Jesus is always celebrated in the Christmas holidays and so we return to school, celebrating the Epiphany of the Wise men, but we also quickly celebrate the baptism of Jesus. This is another epiphany - another revelation - of the nature of Jesus.  This is my beloved son, in whom I am well pleased.  Listen to Him.

There is another very special epiphany celebrated at Saint James - the Presentation of the Lord. Jesus is revealed to Simeon and Anna as the light of the world - the light of Christ shown to all.  It is therefore fitting that we celebrate Lumen Christi, our family of schools.

In 2024, we worked in our houses to create art that reflects the idea of Christ being the light of the world before celebrating together.
