Reception

This term we will be listening to stories from other cultures.  Children will try a variety of fruits that grow in hot parts of the world and learn about what life is like for the people who live there.

Here are a few stories you could read at home with your child.

HANDA'S SURPRISE - Picture Book- Animation

Handa puts seven delicious fruits in a basket to take to her friend, Akeyo. But as she walks, carrying the basket on her head, various creatures steal her fruits. A monkey takes the banana, an ostrich the guava, a zebra the orange, an elephant the mango, a giraffe the pineapple, an antelope the avocado and a parrot the passion fruit.

Viku and the Elephant, a children's story from the forests of India
